Stories in Progress: Book of Ilesa (formerly known as ‘Book of Elders’) Hello! Welcome to September! I personally love this time of year because the weather begins to cool and I’m able to wear one of the many, many sweaters that I own. It’s around this time where I begin to pray for some snow […]Read More A Writer’s Journal: August ’21
Hello! Happy Thursday! I’m happy to announce my short story, ‘With Love, From Waystation 4’ is now available. This publication is meaningful for a few reasons: It’s my first new publication since 2019. It’s also a sweet love story that heavily features one of my favorite arcade games. AND it’s my first publication in a […]Read More New Short Story Out Now!
There were parts of the story that I absolutely loved and am eager to revisit. There are sections that I think slow the narrative down and could use a bit of polishing. Switching from drafting mode to editing mode is not easy. Once I reached the ending, I took a week to collect myself and rest my mind. That week has extended into two, soon to be three, but I managed to email my beta readers and check that off my to do list.Read More A Writer’s Journal: April ’21

I’m always optimistic at the start of a new year. No matter how tough 2020 was, I choose to hope and believe that 2021 will be better in its own way. Or at the very least, I’ll publish some fantastic short stories.Read More 2021 Writing Intentions and Goals
Last year, I joined a lovely group of writers primarily composed for people from my graduate school. I think I’ll dedicated another post to my experiences with this group and how it’s helped my writing during this pandemic. But for now I’ll say that I’m grateful to meet with this group every Saturday afternoon to […]Read More I’m Doing A Reading!
My stories have value because I say so, not because someone else deems it so. Of course, publications and awards are important. I’d love for my work to be read around the world. But for now, I’m happy with writing self-indulgent stories. Because I’m my first and most important reader and it’s important that I enjoy the story.Read More 2020 Writing Roundup
